Nokia 6300i brings Wi-Fi home

The highly popular Nokia 6300 has received a worthy successor in the face of the Nokia 6300i. Topped with Wi-Fi and VoIP support, the Nokia 6300i retains the original looks and functionality of the previous device.

Surely an exciting upgrade, the Nokia 6300i is in fact identical to the Nokia 6301, which has UMA support beside Wi-Fi. Behind the UMA abbreviation lays some simple means for your network carrier to charge you for calls made via the Wi-Fi network as if they were normal GSM ones. The Nokia 6301 was produced for some network carriers and never saw the light of day on the general market.

Nokia 6300i comes with Wi-Fi and VoIP support

The Nokia 6300i takes care of that blunder - you now have the customizability of the Nokia S40 software platform (same as Nokia 6300 and Nokia 6500 classic) bundled with Wi-Fi support for fast data transfers, VoIP support for making calls via Wi-Fi and also Nokia Maps to help you find your way around.

The tri-band GSM/EDGE enabled Nokia 6300i has a 2-inch QVGA TFT display, a 2 megapixel camera, microSD memory card slot, a 2.5 mm audio connector and stereo Bluetooth.

The Nokia 6300i will be available in Graphite Grey for around 175 euro before taxes somewhere in Q2 2008.

Tip 1: Avoid signal blocking from your hand
GPS antenna is located under your phone’s keypad or bottom part of your device. To make sure it will work on properly, open the keypad and cover the area use your hand.

Tip 2: Outdoor Only
This GPS device works properly only at outdoor, under the bright blue sky. Satellite signal will be easily covered by roof or worst covered by buildings sourounding. So use GPS outside your house, office, or any buildings to get the best signal from satellite.

Tip 3: Climate condition reduce the signal
Satellite signal affected by the air, rain, clouds or smoke. Avoid those cause to get clear signal, and use it only when you have good weather for best performance

Tip 4: Patient is the key.
Connecting signal on to satellite might take a time, so please be patient. At least it will take 40 seconds to get your device connected. It happens also with external GPS device.

Tip 5: UV shields coverd signal
Still a cell phone with GPS feature can be used inside a car. Please note the device signal will work properly connected to satellite only if the condition outside (weather .etc) is in good condition

Motorola FONE F3 and F3c Preview

The Motorola FONE F3 (also known as the MOTOFONE) is a very slim bar format phone that's due to hit the market by the end of the year. There are two versions - the FONE F3 is a GSM handset, the F3c is a CDMA version for North America and other CDMA markets.

We understand that the FONE is 9mm thick which makes it one of the slimmest handsets on the market, but the main point of interest with the MOTOFONE is the display.

Motorola say that the so-called "ClearVision" panel uses electrophoretic display (EPD) technology, which in effect is a type of digital ink. An EPD display consists of a number of particles (typically suspended in some sort of fluid) which have a light side and a dark size. An electric charge "flips" the particle over. It's rather like a microscopic reversi board, with dark and light sides to each particle.

There are a some major advantages that EPD displays have over more traditional panels such as TFT or OLED technologies. Firstly, the screen can be read even in direct sunlight as it behaves just like a printed piece of paper, and secondly the energy consumption of an EPD display is very low, and as electrophoretic displays are basically quite simple there's a potential for saving space and weight. There are a couple of major disadvantages - it's a monochrome-only solution, and in low lighting conditions the electrophoretic display will be very difficult to read as it has no internal illumination of it's own (unless Motorola have been very clever indeed).

Motorola have designed the phone.. err FONE.. to be durable and dust resistant, and also very easy to use with a simple interface and voice prompts, plus a "loud" setting for noisy environments. The MOTOFONE seems to be aimed at the lower end of the market, as there's no mention of a MP3 player and no sign of expandable memory - and also the FONE F3 comes with a variety of functions to help prepay/pay-as-you-go customers to keep track of charges.

It's certainly an interesting handset when it comes to the display, and it might even mean a renaissance for monochrome displays as the electrophoretic display panel does have certain advantages over a traditional LCD.

The rest of the technical details of the Motorola FONE F3 / F3c are not known at the time of going to press, but they will presumably be confirmed at a later date.

Apa itu 3G,2G,1G?

Pulsa-reload.com memohon maaf sebelumnya, karena tulisan ini sekedar informasi belaka (hmm.. apa mungkin ada hubungannya dengan bagaimana menjual pulsa elektronik / elektrik kartu prabayar GSM/CDMA :)

Generasi pertama atau 1G merupakan teknologi handphone pertama yang menggunakan sistem analog, contohnya adalah AMPS (Advanced Mobile Phone System) di AS dan TACS (Total Access Communication Service) di Eropa. Generasi pertama ini menggunakan teknik komunikasi yang disebut Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA). Teknik ini memungkinkan untuk membagi-bagi alokasi frekuensi pada suatu sel untuk digunakan masing-masing pelanggan di sel tersebut, sehingga setiap pelanggan saat melakukan pembicaraan memiliki frekuensi sendiri.
Setelah 1G muncullah muncullah 2G. Generasi ini sudah menggunakan teknologi digital. Teknologi 2G lainnya adalah IS-95 CDMA, IS-136 TDMA dan PDC. Generasi kedua selain digunakan untuk komunikasi suara, juga bisa untuk SMS dan transfer data dengan kecepatan maksimal 9.600 bps (bit per second). Sebagai perbandingan, modem yang banyak digunakan untuk koneksi internet berkecepatan 56.000 bps (5,6 kbps). Kelebihan 2G dibanding 1G selain layanan yang lebih baik, dari segi kapasitas juga lebih besar. Karena pada 2G, satu frekuensi bisa digunakan beberapa pelanggan dengan menggunakan mekanisme Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA).

Setelah 2G, lahirlah generasi 2,5 G yang merupakan versi lebih baik dari generasi kedua. Generasi 2,5 ini mempunyai kemampuan transfer data yang lebih cepat. Yang terkenal dari generasi ini adalah GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) dan EDGE.
Baru-baru ini, tren komunikasi seluler mulai beralih kepada generasi berikutnya yang diprediksikan akan menjadi teknologi komunikasi seluler yang menjanjikan. Generasi 3 atau 3G merupakan teknologi terbaru dalam dunia seluler. Generasi ini lebih dikenal dengan sebutan UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication System) atau WCDMA (Wideband - Coded Division Multiple Access). Kelebihan generasi terbaru ini terletak pada kecepatan transfer data yang mencapai 384 kbps di luar ruangan dan 2 Mbps untuk aplikasi indoor. Selain itu, generasi ini dapat menyediakan layanan multimedia seperti internet, video streaming, video telephony, dan lain-lain dengan lebih baik. Generasi ketiga ini menggunakan teknologi CDMA yang awalnya muncul dari teknologi militer Amerika Serikat dan dikhususkan pada standar IS-95.
